Project Manager

Bayfield Design is seeking applications for a professional project manager to join its growing team. The project manager will work directly with our content project leads and content development team to oversee and facilitate technical project management tasks. This includes establishing an effective project workflow in collaboration with project leads, creating project governance documentation, establishing and maintaining a project schedule, identifying and managing changes and risks to project timelines and goals, and interacting with various clients regarding project status updates. The project manager will interact with the business development and management teams to enable new project launches and ensure client projects are set up for success.

Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 (commensurate on education and experience), group benefits program, RRSP matching program

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Professional project management certification
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Proven work experience in project management
  • 3–5 years of experience managing diverse projects with tight timelines
  • Strong knowledge of the practices, procedures, and principles of project management
  • The ability to manage many small projects or multiple medium projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with various project management software and technologies
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills that are out of this world
  • The ability to work well as part of a team or independently
  • Experience communicating with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders to determine project requirements and align priorities

Copy Editor

If you are a wizard with words, have experience in creative writing, and know that good writing and good proofreading go hand in hand, then we want to hear from you!

Bayfield Design is recruiting a copy editor to its team of educators and creative professionals. We're looking for someone who has experience in the field of writing and copy-editing in English and a desire to work in a fast-paced, small business environment. As a copy editor, you will lead efforts to ensure Bayfield Design's products and communications are polished and concise—and ideally, throw in some creative flair along the way.

You will be responsible for copy-editing various types of content for videos, brochures, flyers, letters, emails, elementary courses, high school courses, and more. With so much content being produced, we will rely on your exceptional English skills to add creativity and quality assurance to our products and communications.

Compensation: $45,000–$50,000 (commensurate on education and experience), group benefits program, RRSP matching program

Role

Bayfield Design is looking for a copy editor who has the following:

  • A degree in English Literature, Journalism, or equivalent certification or experience
  • Two to three years of professional writing experience
  • Impeccable grammar and spelling and a strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple requests from different teams with varying or overlapping deadlines
  • A truly collaborative nature and an eagerness to learn
  • A willingness to "own" your work and your areas of specialty, self-manage your time efficiently, and follow projects through independently

Typical Duties

  • Copy-editing a variety of documents, including online courses, marketing material, training guides, office communications, and more
  • Managing quality assurance on all material
  • Coordinating copy-editing requests with team members from initial assessment to final delivery
  • Working with cross-functional teams to provide copy-editing services as required
  • Working on platforms/programs that include content management systems, learning management systems, Office 365, and Adobe
  • Ensuring timelines are met and coordinating tasks for copy-editing projects, providing suggestions for improvements in content where necessary

Content Developers (20+ Positions)

Bayfield Design, located in Bayfield, Ontario, is offering an exciting opportunity for innovative and creative educators and designers to join a team of content developers focused on building exceptional online learning experiences.

The content developer will be responsible for working on a range of development projects and initiatives at all levels. Current projects are underway at the elementary, secondary, and post-secondary levels, with a large elementary course development project starting this fall. Bayfield Design has a special interest in candidates with qualifications or experience at the elementary level in the following areas:

  • Arts
  • Core French
  • Health & Physical Education
  • Social Studies, Geography, and History
  • Science and Technology
  • Language

The content developer will work as part of a team to write and/or develop and design course content for various client projects. These will be full-time positions. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, all work will currently be completed remotely.

Salary: $43,000–$50,000 (commensurate on education and experience), group benefits program, RRSP matching program

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor of Education OR equivalent relevant experience/qualifications
  • Experience teaching in one or more of the subject areas identified
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines and specific project requirements
  • The ability to work well independently and as part of a team to complete tasks
  • Exceptional skills in writing and research
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed technical skills

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • Experience teaching in the classroom and online
  • Experience working with curriculum at different levels and/or from different jurisdictions
  • Additional education or experience in online learning, education technology, or related fields
  • Experience with HTML programming or experience with course/content development software
  • 2–5 years' experience in education, technology, or related field
  • Experience in curriculum development and/or program planning
  • Demonstrated experience with online learning management systems
