Content Developers

Bayfield Design, located in Bayfield, Ontario, is offering exciting opportunities for innovative and creative educators and designers to join a team of content developers focused on building exceptional online learning experiences for clients.

Content developers will be responsible for working on a range of development projects and initiatives at all levels. Current projects are underway at the elementary, secondary, and post-secondary levels, with the possibility of corporate projects occurring at any time. Content developers work as part of a team to write and/or develop and design course content for various client projects. The content developer positions will be full time, permanent, and typically would require the successful candidates to work at Bayfield Design's office in Bayfield, Ontario. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all work will be completed remotely, with the possibility of work transitioning back to the office over the next few months.

Compensation: $43,000–$50,000 (commensurate on education and experience), group benefits program, RRSP matching program

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor of Education OR equivalent relevant experience/qualifications

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • Experience teaching in the classroom and online
  • Experience working with curriculum at different levels and/or from different jurisdictions

  • 2–5 years' experience in education, technology, or related field
  • Experience in curriculum development and/or program planning
  • Demonstrated experience with online learning management systems

Junior Content Developers

Do you have exceptional attention to detail? Consider yourself a team player? Enjoy seeing progress on large tasks and checking things off on a list? Bayfield Design, located in Bayfield, Ontario, is offering an exciting opportunity to join a project migrating over 2,000 courses for a client in the U.S. over the next year. These will be full-time, contract positions for the term of the project (8–12 months). Typically, these positions would require the successful candidate to work at Bayfield Design's office in Bayfield, Ontario. Due to the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, all work will be completed remotely, with the possibility of work transitioning back to the office over the next few months.

The junior content developer will be responsible for working as part of a team to migrate courses to a new learning management system and then review the courses to ensure alignment to client expectations. This is a great entry-level opportunity for motivated and agile individuals to join Bayfield Design's growing team.

Compensation: $34,000–$40,000

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Take migrated courses and review them for alignment and functionality in the Brightspace learning management system.
  • Meet all technical specifications of the client.
  • Input objectives and learning outcomes provided by the client.
  • Resolve technical or design issues that arise from course review.
  • Collaborate with a team to find efficiencies to work processes.
  • Align to or exceed schedule expectations for completion.
  • Take on different roles within the team as required, and demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing demands of the project.

  • College diploma and/or university degree in related field, or relevant experience
  • Well-developed technical skills and ability to adapt to new software and programs

Translator and Copy Editor

If you are equally fluent in written and spoken English and French, have experience in creative writing, and know that good writing and good proofreading go hand in hand…then we want to hear from you!

Bayfield Design is recruiting a Translator and Copy Editor to its team of educators and creative professionals. We're looking for someone who has experience in the field of writing and copy editing in both English and Canadian French, and a desire to work in a fast-paced, small business environment. As a Translator and Copy Editor, you will lead efforts to ensure Bayfield Design's products and communications are polished and available to bilingual audiences – and ideally, throw in some creative flair along the way.

You will be responsible for translating various types and amounts of content from English to Canadian French for videos, brochures, flyers, letters, emails, elementary courses, high school courses, and more. With so much content being produced, we will also rely on your exceptional English writing skills to add creativity and quality assurance to our products and communications.

Role

Bayfield Design is looking for a Translator and Copy Editor who has:

  • Full fluency in English and Canadian French, both written and spoken.
  • A degree in English, French and/or similar certification in translation, or adequate experience.
  • 2–3 years of professional writing and translating experience.
  • Impeccable grammar and spelling and a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple requests from different teams with varying or overlapping deadlines.
  • A truly collaborative nature and an eagerness to learn.
  • A willingness to "own" your work and your areas of specialty, manage your time efficiently, and follow projects through independently.

Typical Duties

  • Read or listen to content in English and convert it into French, making sure to preserve the original meaning and intention.
  • Translate a variety of documents including online courses, marketing material, training guides, office communications, and more.
  • Manage quality assurance on all translated material.
  • Coordinate all aspects of translation requests from initial assessment to final delivery.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to provide translation services as required.
  • Work on platforms/programs including content management systems, learning management systems, Office 365, and Adobe.
  • Ensure timelines are met and coordinate tasks for translation projects, provide suggestions for improvements in translation content where necessary.

Business Development Representative

Bayfield Design is looking for a business development representative to join our growing team of content development, multimedia, and technology professionals focused on offering unique online learning solutions to clients.

The business development representative is responsible for working as part of a team to identify new business development opportunities, coordinate outreach efforts, and turn leads into fabulous new clients. The business development representative is also responsible for fielding new inquiries from inbound calls and managing the proposal-writing process for any proposal or quote requests posted. The business development representative position will be full time and permanent. It would typically require the successful candidate to work at Bayfield Design's office in Bayfield, Ontario. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all work will be completed remotely initially, with the possibility of work transitioning back to the office over the next few months.

Compensation: $48,000–$60,000 (commensurate on education and experience), group benefits program, RRSP matching program

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in related field OR equivalent experience
  • The ability to work well independently and on a team to complete tasks

  • Refined skills in research and problem-solving
